Our Story
Founded by Floyd Lee Nettles and Marjorie Nettles in March,1964 purchasing 41 acres of an 82-acre tract from Frank Fann of Corrigan, TX later in 2009 acquiring the other tract connecting to HWY 287 across from the Carmona Church where both families are buried. The hours of blood, sweat, tears and mistakes are what has made this place so special to so many that have visited over the years and given inspiration to keep the vision going of having a sanctuary for not only cattle and wildlife but friends to come away from the city and enjoy another way of life while they visit.
Aside from the hunting and working cows, friends have learned about the different trees and flowers on the property, fished in the ponds, shot sporting clays (East Texas Style), played a mean game of dominos and enjoyed an adult beverage on the porch watching the sunset and thinking of another way of life. Now sixty years later the hard work, blood, sweat, tears and mistakes continue on in a larger scale with great help from those that work the ranch.
